Environment & activitys

Les Moulins is a small hamlet, and part of the commune of Corancy. It is located at the lake of Pannecière. The lake of Pannecière is a reservoir, where you can swim, canoe or fish. Fishing requires a license. http://youtu.be/sWPfphf0YCY 

The Morvan

The parc regional du Morvan is situated in the middle of Burgundy: many nature lovers regard this the most beautiful part of Burgundy. It is an area of 50 by 70 kilometers. The Morvan is a nature park, characterised by lakes, streams, meadows and magnificent views. In this beautiful and unspoilt nature area you will find many trails for walking, riding and mountain biking. 

Burgundy

Burgundy is a region with many historic villages and cities that are worth visiting. Some of these villages and towns even date back to Roman times. Towns such as:

Vezelay (distance 60km) is best known as a place of pilgrimage and for its abbey church, the Basilica of Vezelay, a building from the 11th century.

Nevers (distance 60km) with its Cathedrals Saint-Cyr and Sainte Julitte. The building of these lasted from the 11th to the 16th century. The Ducal Palace was completed in early Renaissance style. Also you will find nice shops, streets and terraces in Nevers.

Autun (distance 45km) is an old Roman town, the Saint Lazare Cathedral from the 12th century is worth visiting. There is a market on Friday mornings.

Castles

Chateau de Bazoches, a 12th century castle near Vezelay, Château Chastellux, located in Chastellux sur Cure and Château Villemolin at Anthien.

Museums

Musee de la Résistance Morvan is a resistance museum about World War 2, located in Saint Brisson, François Mitterrand museum at Château Chinon and Bibracte, a Gaulish fortified town, at Saint Léger-sous-Beuvray.

Do make sure you are on the lookout for brocantes during the summer months.

Cycling

There are many mountain bike trails leading through the woods. http://youtu.be/aACAZko7l5k For the serious cyclist it is lovely to cycle around Lake Pannecière. This is a hilly route off appr. 22 km, and it offers beautiful views. Cycling around the shores of Settons Lake will be easier for the less trained cyclist. There are beautiful routes around the Lake of Settons.
