The Morvan Regional Natural Park, is one of the oldest natural parks in France. This granite massif is located in the heart of Burgundy, 700 km from Utrecht. The entire region exudes peace and space and offers opportunities for all kinds of activities. The Morvan has 6 artificial lakes, our house is situated on the lake of Pannecière.

Lake Pannecière is the largest in Burgundy (520 ha). It stretches for 7.5 km in a beautiful setting of wooded hills. It is a paradise for fishermen and hikers. The four neighbouring communes are: Chaumard, Montigny-en-Morvan, Ouroux-en-Morvan and Corancy. There are many varied opportunities for sports and outdoor activities in this exceptionally protected environment.

Lake Pannecière is a reservoir. In August, the water level slowly drops until, in September, only the river Yonne is visible at our doorstep in Corancy. Further on towards Chaumard (4 km), enough water will remain to enjoy the lake even in September.

In spring, the lake will be back to normal, of course you can swim in the lake.
